Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released ironically around the same period as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island; there may be a monster. The monster is, if I am not mistaken, the island itself.


Because this film is about an asylum, it has a similar budget to a large kid’s meal. The film uses it lightly, focusing on a handful human characters and filming all the big stars' sequences at Monster Island review one location during lunch. The Asylum may not be a bad film though, as it is a kaiju movie.
